Our goal is to deliver the most differentiated and overall best bed & breakfast (“B&B”) experience available in Asheville. But we aren’t stopping there. Our long-term aspiration is to elevate our guest experience to be regarded as one of the top B&B properties anywhere in the world. While we are indeed a true bed & breakfast and not a hotel, our guests will find many aspects of their stay will compare favorably or exceed that of fine hotels. In many ways, we are endeavoring to create a new type of lodging experience to address rapidly changing guest preferences for more intimate and authentic environments without asking guests to forgo high-end amenities and thoughtfully curated luxurious spaces. Perhaps we are on the vanguard of creating a new sort of lodging category that we are calling “the bed and breakfast style boutique hotel.” We invite you to be a part of our journey and share part of your story with us.
The Applewood Manor is only a 15 minute walk to the center of downtown Asheville. If you like, rent one of our Brompton fold-up bikes to get around town more quickly.
All our rooms feature one of, if not the world’s best bed…the legendary Duxiana 6006 king size bed. The bed is complemented by a combination of Duxiana and Sferra linens, blankets and pillows. Our sleep experience is comparable to or even better than the finest and most celebrated hotels anywhere in the world.
We observe and follow all CDC, local government and industry sanitary best practices. In addition, we have implemented innovative sanitation tools and technologies such as Tersano SAO system for effective and environmental responsible surface disinfection, UV light disinfection and vigilant frequent cleaning of the property. We have distributed seating for breakfast utilizing the entire common area of the house so that breakfast service is provided to each guest group separately.
The Applewood Manor is not your grandparents’ B&B. Many people’s expectations evoke the cliché of dusty old houses with other guests sharing a single bathroom and generally little privacy or comfort. Our modern interpretation of the B&B experience is modeled after properties like The Soho House with a blend of classic and contemporary décor delivering a more boutique hotel-like guest experience. Also, enjoy Applewood’s ever expanding art collection on loan from owner’s Stephen & Robin Collins.
We offer bespoke guest experiences for cycling, culinary and business leadership. We maintain a fleet of incredible 3T Exploro bikes for our guests to rent and can put together any type of cycling experience you wish. Our kitchen was fully renovated in early 2021 and is now a chef’s dream. Enjoy our cuisine or come inside and cook with us. In the future, we plan to bring in guest chefs and put on culinary events. The property is an excellent option to host business leadership events and experiences that can be facilitated by our owner Stephen Collins, a 30 year technology industry leader.
Our house is a perfect venue for intimate private events including weddings, receptions, family reunions, a friends’ gathering, charity events and any number of other themes.
We maintain a fine wine and beer cellar that guests may select from during their stay. We also can arrange wine and beer tastings from our cellar or curate a selection with advance notice.
We only have 6 rooms. The house sits on one of the larger properties in Montford at 1.1 acres. You can most definitely avoid the crowds and find quiet places throughout our property inside and out. We also have a fenced area off our “rocking chair” porch that is an ideal and secure space for your dog to enjoy some freedom and playtime.
We are committed to delivering an outstanding B&B experience to each and every guest. We value your feedback and suggestions for improvement. We deeply appreciate that you chose our property. Thanks in advance for telling others about us and posting reviews on social media and other review platforms.
