The Granny Smith Room at our historic Asheville Bed and Breakfast - Originally the bed room for the Captain's daughter, it is located on the second floor facing the front of the estate grounds which are serenely quiet due to the house sitting on the knoll of an acre and a half. One of our most popular rooms it has a painted iron Queen bed, a gas log fireplace flanked by gold winged back reading chairs, ceiling fan and air conditioning. What used to be where the maids ironed now is an en-suite bath with a shower and bathroom vent fan for privacy. To add to the unique quality of the room is a private balcony with Adirondack furniture made by the Amish, a view of the surrounding mountains, side and back yard full of huge trees, it rises above roof tops. During the Spring, a pair of Hawks have nested in one of those pine trees protected by our grounds for the last 4 years.
Our Location may be our best amenity. This Asheville bed and breakfast is a short stroll to downtown Asheville and the University of North Carolina at Asheville, a 5 minute drive to the Biltmore House and Mission Hospitals, and a 10 minute drive to the nearest Blue Ridge Parkway access. If you're looking for a romantic getaway in Asheville, this is the place for you.
All of our Asheville accommodations are garnished with fresh flowers and rich chocolates on your pillow and feature king or queen-size beds with fine linens, beautiful antiques, private en-suite baths, television with built-in DVD players and iPod or iHome clock radios. Some guestrooms include fireplaces, private balconies, ceiling fans and more. Please take some time to explore each of our rooms as we are sure you will find one that is just right for you.
